Q. What is Cayuga Health Giving Day?
Cayuga Health Giving Day 2021 is the Cayuga Health System’s 2nd Annual 24-hour giving campaign that provides essential funding to support Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital. We are excited to share this event again with our communities, grateful patients, physicians, staff, and volunteers. Thank you!
Q. When is Cayuga Health Giving Day?
Cayuga Health Giving Day will take place on September 14, 2021 from 12:00 am (midnight) to 11:59pm.
Q. What organizations make up the Cayuga Health System?
Cayuga Health System (CHS) unites two longstanding, independent hospitals, Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca and Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls. Our two hospitals have served our respective communities well for many years. By joining together in a cohesive health-care network, we are in an even stronger position to provide seamless, comprehensive, community-centered care for the many residents we serve across the Finger Lakes and central New York.
Q. What is GiveGab?
GiveGab is a local nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab is headquartered in Ithaca, New York and offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.
Q. Who can donate on Cayuga Health Giving Day?
Anyone with a credit card, access to the internet, and a desire to support local healthcare at Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital and/or Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility.
Q. Can I participate in Cayuga Health Giving Day if I am not affiliated with Cayuga Medical Center or Schuyler Hospital?
Yes! Members of our community are encouraged to support these two critical organizations on Cayuga Health Giving Day. When prompted in the giving form, you select the role that best describes your relationship with either hospital. The gifts of many come together to support our efforts to care for our communities in a big way.
Q. What forms of donations are accepted?
MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express donations received through the website on Cayuga Health Giving Day. If you wish to make a donation specifically for Cayuga Health Giving Day via check, please contact your respective Foundation:

Q. Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your online gift.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit www.cayugagivingday.org on your preferred internet browser. We suggest using Chrome or Safari for optimal mobile experience.
Q. Where does my Giving Day gift go?
All donations are vital to supporting both Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital. Your gift supports our physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, staff and administrators who work tirelessly to provide the best possible healthcare for our communities. You have the opportunity to designate your gift through your chosen foundation to a fund that is meaningful to you. Please contact your respective Foundation with questions:

Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely – Our Cayuga Health Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a local company who has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through www.CayugaGivingDay.org. Read through Stripe's security documentation online for more information about how your payment information is processed.
Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?

Q. Is my Cayuga Health Giving Day contribution tax deductible?
Yes, your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an emailed confirmation of your online gift that may serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
Q. Does it cost anything to give through Cayuga Health Giving Day? How much of my donation will the Cayuga Medical Center or Schuyler Hospital receive?
There is a 3.5% platform fee, as well as a 2.5% (+ $.30) credit card fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express). The donation form is compatible with Apple, Google and Microsoft Pay systems.
Donors who give a minimum of $100 will be presented with the option to directly debit their bank account rather than using a credit card. There is a flat $3 fee associated with this payment method in lieu of the 2.5% + $0.30 credit card fee. Donors also have the option to cover the costs of all processing fees for their donation on behalf of the Cayuga Health System.
Q. What if I already made a gift to the Cayuga Medical Center or the Schuyler Health Foundation this year?
Thank you for being part of the Cayuga Health donor family! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift on September 14. We also need your help to promote Cayuga Health Giving Day to others. We have created sample email and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are located in the Champion Toolkit on the site in the Menu Bar in the upper right corner.
Q. Can I help promote Cayuga Health Giving Day?
Please do! We encourage you to share the images and messages that are located in the Champion Toolkit. Send an email to your colleagues, friends, and family, post on your Facebook page, tweet, blog, yell, put signs on your lawn. It's all encouraged!Q. How will the donation be reported on my credit card?
Gifts made on the Cayuga Health Giving Day will appear on donors' credit cards as either Cayuga Medical Center Foundation or Schuyler Health Foundation.
